Nice atmosphere and good coffee. Has a local coffee place feeling 👍🏻
This is a truly cozy place. A real time machine back to Vienna as it used to be in the early 90s or even late 80s. Indulge in this wonderful and friendly atmosphere with good music and mingle with the locals. And what a name this place has got!
Sensational coffee and wonderful retro decor is Café Kafka. A place where you can sit and stop you thoughts :)
The waiter did not even recognize us. After ordering by our selves on the bar he partly forgot what we ordered. Still a nice Sacher torte, nice ambience and a good coffee. I think loads of students there.
Smokey area, nice people for talking about text you wrote.
Good coffee, cakes and vibe.
this place is a hidden gem! amazing coffee and surprisingly, terrific apple strudel! really loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff as well!
It was a nice experience overall. Nice music, somewhat downbeat atmosphere and friendly service. Two things I want to mention specifically: it's possible to smoke inside (may be a pro or con for you) and it's *not* possible to pay by card (cash only).
Nice staff and delicious coffee and food but it's a smoker café, so if you're a non smoker it may be hard to stay there
Best and friendliest coffee house in Vienna, the waitress was extremely kind by offering me some of her own plant based milk so I could drink latte, I was absolutely moved by her gesture! The music is wonderful, an amazing place to just sit down for a short break and turn off the noise of the world. I have recommended it to all my friends and family :)
Located under a language school, and has a really nice vibe. Good drinks. Only one table has a power socket. WiFi for some reason was surprisingly slow! I moved around to catch a better signal, but it was the same everywhere. (Speed test screenshot attached).
Excellent coffee and a truly "artistic" or perhaps smokey bar that just makes you want to relax and write poetry! Super cool place.
Best cafe in Vienna. Espresso is fantastic. Food is wonderful--apple strudel the best I've ever had. Close to museums and bookshops.
Good for smokers.
quiet, relaxing to drink coffee
I had a melange coffee and warm Apfelstrudel, which were both great quality, but the waitress wasn't so skilled. She didn't even say hello and wanted to take our order without bringing us the menu first. I think it should be basic knowledge to bring the menu or at least ask if you need the menu.
False advertising on some platforms about vegan options, but the coffee was delicious
I was here today, The place was really great, but the stuffs look like so tired :)), they didn't care about customers and were really slow. Not even have a little bit smily face.
Cheap, great music, great service!
Tourists, stay away!..You will be spotted from the moment you enter this sanctuary of Vienna. Students and people with Viennese dialect made a real, no fuzzy atmosphere. You are going to feel yourself an intruder, as I felt myself. Next time I promise to wear dark colour cloths.
Nuce, Artist in Cafe. Polite service that listens to the suggestion to first serve the international crowd. Good coffee, made with the milk foam in a try to resemble a heart.
Nice café. Great location. They even have a vegan dish on their menu
Fun place. Coffee is just ok. Apple pie is excellent. A bit tiny but cosy
Just like being in a time machine you will transported in to an old 60's style cafe house, staff are young and super cool, nice atmosphere, not expensive at all
Really intimate and boheme atmosphere. It's a classical viennese cafe, but not so touristy.
Excellent coffee.
Cozy and pleasant. Good soft music, high ceilings and old coloured walls are giving an ambiance that is hard to imitate.Highly recommended.
Beautiful, cosy coffee shop. You can smoke inside and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace.
Been here a few times last year and this year I came back, the place is cozy and service is friendly.
Another place transformed for the better by Vienna's smoking ban. The cafe itself is utterly unpretentious; some of its patrons, the opposite. Wait staff are uncharacteristically nice for Vienna. This is an epic little spot for hatching proletariat uprisings, or writing a Proustian novel on an old typewriter you've lugged with your commitment to ironic whimsy. But it's also good to go with friends, or simply to read alone. It's even more down and dirty than Jelenik nearby; maybe on a par with Cafe Hawelka in first district: graffiti scribbled on the walls, tattered bench cushions, marble cafe tables. Password protected WiFi, but few laptops here. Quite busy at peak times, so prepare to share tables. Inexpensive.
Quality coffee. For coffee lovers like me or third wave coffee this is the place
A real hidden gem. Lovely easy going atmosphere. Good value wine and food . Definitely recommend.
i came for kafka, haven't stayed for the atmosphere and way too strong coffee! but hey, maybe that's what Kafkaesque is about?
Low key, quiet, excellent mood music, great coffee and cake. Very chilled.
Very cool chilled atmosphere, prices were also fair. The best thing was the real indoor fireplace!
One of the best cups of coffee in Vienna. Old style atmosphere. Mixed cliental. For smokers.
It has its own character, which is not really saying much. But said an unknown wise man that beauty is in the mystery. If you can read a book undettered by noise and smoke, this is the place. This is the little place where Vienna comes alive.
Extremely good
Fantastic old timey place with a relaxing atmosphere
Loved it , Warm atmosphere, Friendly staff
Chill place. Good espresso and both the Sachertorte and apfelstrudel were excellent. For those who mind it, it should be pointed out that smoking is permitted here.
Very nice place!
Best Bacon and Eggs I have ever had anywhere! Compliments to the Chef!
Coffee and Strudel top
Nice place with nice stuff. Smoking is allowed inside. The coffe was one of the best in Wien. The doors of the restrooms are very funny (looks like a wardrobe's door :) )
Old fashioned cafe. Mostly drinks, some small bites can be ordered.
Overextracted, bitter esspresso. Colorful bunch. Smoke.
Tired of overpriced tourist traps? This place is just for you. Located near the shopping street, Kafka offers true local experience with amazing coffee, irreplaceable atmosphere and fair prices. Be advised that the inside is cigarette-friendly - which I personally find to be a symbolic call for freedom from Austrian strict public rules (you can always sit outside anyway).
One of ma fave cafés in Vienna. Central, comfy, good coffee, homelike :) enjoy
